bayklif2

Das zweite Bayerische Klimaforschungsnetzwerk

What does climate change mean for Bavaria – for its landscapes such as forests, lakes, and fields, its cities, and its people? How do we secure biodiversity, water resources, harvests, and health in an era where extreme weather, heatwaves, and new stressors are becoming the norm? This is exactly where bayklif2 comes in.

Funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts, this forward-looking network program builds on the successful work of its predecessor, bayklif, while simultaneously taking a decisive step further: from AI-supported biodiversity monitoring and the stability of our lakes to climate-resilient forests and crops, and urban health strategies – bayklif2 approaches climate research in an integrative, data-driven, and practical manner.

Six highly innovative research projects are pooling their expertise at leading Bavarian institutions. Together, they combine ecological research, state-of-the-art sensor technology, Artificial Intelligence, and medical expertise toward one goal: finding practically implementable answers to the challenges of climatic changes for Bavaria’s ecosystems and society.
